I assume that everyone has Google, Yahoo, Friendster and MySpace.com on their bookmarks. But if you’re looking for a more educational and informative browsing experience, I suggest heading over to The Digital Pinoy.

But what exactly is The Digital Pinoy? For us to better understand what it is, let us try to see it from the eyes of one its members who goes by the name of Urahara.

“The Digital Pinoy or TDP as we call it is a virtual community that was founded by a man that goes by the avatar of “bloodredxxx”. He founded this virtual community with one goal in mind, to connect and bring together Filipinos from all over the world and from different walks of life. He envisioned that someday, through this virtual community, Filipinos will be able to connect and interact. Regardless of status, age, gender, and other obstacles that would normally hinder interaction.”

In my experience, I find TDP as a bubbling place for chatting and discussing ideas. TDP is a place to connect with my fellow Filipinos, read articles, get the hottest OPM mp3s, and discuss topics with fellow TDPers.

TDP is more than just your average forum site. Homura, a moderator of TDP, also shows another side of TDP:

“TDP for me is an ideal, an ideal that I salute. Like I said, TDP is an ideal, it’s a place where I used to enjoy and socialize in a sense, with the comfort of being distant.”
